REHEARSALS AND AUDITIONS

MYO membership is based on musical ability and MYO's specific needs each season. Students with financial needs may arrange to borrow a musical instrument from the orchestra for their personal use during the season. A limited number of partial scholarships are also available. Rehearsals

Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings during the school year from 9:00-12:00 at:

St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church
1830 Kirby Road
McLean, VA

Rehearsal Schedule

Audition Requirements

Middle school and high school students 12 to 18 years of age are eligible to audition. Older students willing to both coach and perform with the orchestra may also audition. Student placement is competitive. Candidates must demonstrate superiority of tone, intonation, vibrato, dynamic range, musicality, and accuracy.

Auditions are scheduled beginning in April and continue through the summer. There is a $20 non-refundable audition fee. To schedule an audition, please contact MYO Director Tina Anderson.
