Laura Giannarelli is a graduate of Catholic
University’s Drama Department and a native Washingtonian who has
acted in this area professionally for many years. A founding
company member of The Washington Stage Guild, she has appeared in over
25 Guild productions. Audiences saw her most recently in the
Stage Guild’s critically acclaimed productions of Humble Boy and You
Never Can Tell. Laura has also worked at many other theatres
around town over the years; she played Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit at
Wayside Theatre in Middletown, VA in the Fall of 2004 and toured with
the Kennedy Center as Mama in Dreams in the Golden Country in
2003. Laura is a longtime narrator of Talking Books for the Library
of Congress, having been honored with an Alexander Scourby Award from
the American Foundation for the Blind in 1990 for her work. She
is also the recipient of a 2003 Mary Goldwater Award for her acting
work in the Washington area. She is delighted to have been invited
to participate in this lovely program with her old friend and colleague,
Mr. Largess.
