Laurel Bennert Ohlson has held the position of AssociatePrincipal Horn with the National Symphony Orchestra since 1980.She
is a member of the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, the Monarch Brass Quintet,
the Capitol Woodwind Quintet, and the chamber ensemble National Musical
Arts.Ms. Ohlson has appeared as a soloist with the National Symphony
Orchestra and the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra, and has given recitals
and clinics at the International Horn
Society Workshops and the International
Women’s Brass Conferences. She has
been on the Board of Directors of the International Women’s Brass Conference
since 1991, and is currently Vice-President of that organization. A
graduate of Boston University School
for the Arts, Ms. Ohlson majored in horn performance with a minor in
mathematics. Ms. Ohlson will be recording The Concertino for Horn with
the Eclipse Chamber Orchestra on the Naxos label.
