For the final concert of the season, the McLean Orchestra remembers old time radio with a concert recreating George Gershwin’s popular radio hour, with WETA announcers Nicole Lacroix and Rich Kleinfeldt and pianist Edward Newman.
Featuring George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue
Orginally composed in 1924, Rhapsody in Blue combines elements of classical music with jazz. Pianist Edward Newman will dazzle audiences with his interpretation of Gershwin’s most celebrated piece. Newman as been a soloist with numerous orchestras. among them the Cleveland Orchestra, the National Symphony, and the Baltimore Symphony.
This concert will also feature works by Irving Berlin and Cole Porter.
