FLC Member Profile: Robin Gordon


Robin Gordon

Ms. Robin Gordon, a Certified Public Accountant is a Principal with Cato Gordon & Company. Originally from San Francisco she graduated from the Haas School of Business, University of California at Berkeley and worked for Arthur Andersen before moving to Australia in 1985. Her husband was posted to the Australian Embassy in 1993 and they have lived in the Washington DC area ever since. She has two daughters; one just graduated from the University of Virginia and the other is in her second year there.

Robin was a Director in BPO (business process outsourcing) with KPMG LLP in DC before starting her own company in 2001 which merged with Cato Gordon & Company in 2007. Robin’s experience with big companies, big international accounting firms and living abroad gives her a unique advantage in providing accounting and taxation services to smaller companies and to individuals. This experience enables her to act as an advisor and problem solver as well as a financial expert.

Her clients are based throughout the world. She is able to provide outstanding services to them because she takes the time to build a relationship based on mutual trust and respect. Her primary objective is for her client to have a peace of mind that financial matters are being and will continue to be taken care of. Supplementing this is an extensive network system that Robin has built throughout her years in DC which enable her to find an equally trusted professional to assist her client if it is not within her area of expertise.

She recently became involved with the McLean Orchestra through Aileen Pisciotta , President–Elect. She is actively involved in a committee within the McLean Orchestra called Instrumental to Business and is enjoying working with other like-minded business people to bring a unique musical twist to business networking events.
