Bartok, Rumanian Folk Dances
Bartok’s beloved homage to
the songs and dances of his native
Hungary.
Sarasate, Ziguenerweisen Regino
Madrid, violin
Gypsy music is the inspiration for
this well-known virtuosic composition. Regino
Madrid joined McLean Orchestra as
Concertmaster in 2005. He is
an active soloist throughout the
Washington, D.C. area and a member
of “The President’s Own” U.S.
Marine Chamber Orchestra, which plays
regularly at the White House.
Brahms, Symphony No. 3
In describing this evocative work,
Clara Schumann wrote, “All
the movements seem to be of one piece,
one beat of the heart, each one a
jewel! One feels oneself snatched
up in the joyous web of Nature.”
